Driver Managers Make All the Difference

Driver Managers Make All the Difference

According to a recent article in The Wall Street Journal, “People don’t leave jobs. They leave managers.” Findings in a survey conducted by Gallup consisting of 7,200 adults seems to validate this notion as nearly half of those taking the survey said they have left a job just to get away from a manager.

Gallup also found that roughly the same percentage of survey respondents were happiest when they had a manager they could talk to in their day-to-day lives. More importantly, drivers need managers that work to assist them-- not to hinder them. When a driver can talk with their manager, it helps to foster not only trust and happiness, but job retention. Drivers stay where they feel connected and respected.

At Millis Transfer, we understand the importance of listening, being flexible, and making sure drivers know they are valued. That’s why so many who have come to us from other trucking companies stay with us. It matters when driver managers invest and build lasting relationships with drivers, which is why Millis Transfer supports and encourages open communication and honesty. Our drivers state, time and again, that the relationship with their driver managers at Millis Transfer is what makes all the difference.

Dare to Compare Millis Transfer and you’ll find that not only our managers, but our drivers, are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. Contact us at 1-800-937-0880 and find out for yourself how nice it is to work with a company that truly cares about you.
