There's A lot of Surprises Out There

Those seeking work in the field of trucking should be prepared for just about anything. What new recruits are promised is often not what is delivered. This is, in part, what contributes to the high turnover rate in trucking. Changing jobs every time you turn around is not fun. As a matter of fact, it is extremely stressful.

According to Monster.Com, industry statistics show that truckers change jobs so much within the course of a year, that employee turnover can get as high as 100% or higher annually. “The annualized rate of turnover for long-haul, over-the-road drivers at small companies (less than $30 million in annual revenues) was 102% during the first quarter of 2007. At large companies, it was even higher: 127%.” According to Bob Costello, chief economist for the American Trucking Association, those numbers have held fairly steady.

While there’s a lot of moving around out there in the transportation sector, Millis Transfer is proud to say that the new recruits who join Millis Transfer, stay with Millis Transfer. Everyone else might find themselves busy job hopping, but wouldn’t it be great to be able to hang your hat with a company that not only pays well, but treats you well?  Sign with us and you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised. You’ll actually WANT to stay. Give us a call at 1-800-937-0880 and dare to compare our driver retention to any other company in the business.
