Halloween Movies Love Truck Drivers
October 10, 2021
The movie industry loves truck drivers, especially at Halloween. There’s a number of different storylines out there, all featuring the great almighty 18-wheeler. And the frights come in all different ways.
There’s classics, like Smokey and the Bandit or Convoy. Of course, we must pay homage to them. Then there’s others, like, Over the Top featuring a down and out truck driver played by the marvelous Sylvester Stallone. He competes in an arm-wrestling championship, full of its own type of fright, for a chance to win more than just a truck-- but time with the family. Other movies, like recently released title, The Ice Road, offers a fantastic performance from Liam Neeson, and is sure to raise the adrenaline, too.
Looking for more of a classic scare? How about watching JoyRide or Maximum Overdrive. You’ll see for yourself how far the director’s imagination can venture, especially where trucks are concerned. Maximum Overdrive, written by Stephen King, made people afraid of 18-wheelers. Stephen King has focused on trucks in more than one movie. Even he, it seems can’t break his fascination with them. His works are, however, all in the name of good scary fun, of course.
Like true stories? Be sure to catch the documentary Big Rig, a great film that actually honors the hard work and sacrifices truck drivers make to ensure the Supply Chain stays in-tact. These are, of course, just a few. The list of good trucking movies is very long. And, there’s sure to be more movies with trucks on the way. The public loves them!!!
