Vaccine Mandates & Supply Chain Interruptions
September 12, 2021
According to the American Trucking Association, the approaching COVID vaccine requirements are worrisome. In a new press release, the ATA states more than 80 million Americans will be impacted by a mandate that requires trucking companies with over 100 employees to ensure employees are all vaccinated or that each unvaccinated employee is tested for the virus weekly. Not doing so could cost companies anywhere from $1,000 to $136,000 per incident.
While the new vaccine mandates are not effectively immediately, a new rule is predicted to happen sooner rather than later. Some projections allude to just a few weeks before it is implemented. These new requirements, according to the ATA, are feared for they could interrupt the supply chain and place undue burdens on the industry. There have already been a few public protests by truck drivers against the vaccine mandates.
Protecting our drivers and making sure our customers continue to receive the superior service we have always provided remains a top priority for Millis Transfer. Rest assured...we will do everything possible to ensure our drivers have access to all needed health care amid the least amount of disruption.
