Mark Your Calenders--March is Going to be Great!

Mark Your Calenders--March is Going to be Great!

March is a fun month, especially for truck drivers. Who else gets to see all those wonderful daffodils from the hilltops? Along with the pretty yellow and green flowers, the days are getting longer and the sun is getting warmer for those in the Northern Hemisphere. With winter passing, along with the historic snow storms of February, we look forward to the spring equinox on March 20, 2021. This is when the sun moves north over the celestial equator. As a driver, you get the added benefit of enjoying fresh sunlight streaming into your window in the early morning hours.

Something else that makes March special is the harvesting of maple syrup. Oh, and there’s also Eat Something on a Stick Day that is celebrated March 28. Doesn’t s’mores, cotton candy, or kebabs just sound yum!! As a driver, you get the added benefit of trying out foods from different regions. Lucky you as there are some mighty good eats out there along the highway.

What most people think of when it comes to March, however, is those exciting three words: It’s Spring Break!!!

You’ll need to get the sunscreen and take advantage of at least one of those amazing events happening across the country. At the very least, get prepared for all the extra traffic on the roads. Isn’t is great to have more people out driving? Just be sure to keep your eyes on the road and March will surely be a memorable month.

Oh yes, who could forget, March is also the time when we celebrate Women’s History Month, especially those women who have made such a difference in the world of trucking. It’s also St. Patrick’s Day, so be sure to get that green button and you’re good to roll. And when you’re taking a rest or enjoying some time away from the wheel, don't forget that there will be plenty of basketball to enjoy. Between leprechauns and jeeps with big beach balls bouncing around, March is perhaps one of the most exciting months for company drivers throughout the year.
