Meals for 18 Wheels

If someone made a top 10 list of what makes the holidays so special, besides all the great work of our truck drivers, one of those items would definitely be the food. Whether it’s succulent turkey or that special Christmas ham, it wouldn’t be a celebration without a warm plate of tasty fixings.
What happens when a truck driver, working so hard to deliver our goods, finds they will not have access to a place to eat. Or, perhaps they forget their food during the holidays. What's a driver to do? Meals for 18 Wheels is offering a kind solution. Organized for OTR drivers, Meals for Wheels consists of volunteers focusing on feeding hot meals to other drivers, particularly around Thanksgiving and Christmas, when many are unable to be at home with their families.
As part of the program, Meals for 18 Wheels will try to help an OTR trucker three times in a six-month period. The program only facilitates meals, prepared via volunteers all around the United States. Since its inception, Meals for 18 Wheels has received some great fanfare. As stated by one person on their Facebook Page: “I love Meals for 18 Wheels cause it's a great way to be a great help to others.” Another fan adds, “This is a great group and they are usually pretty good at getting help to those who need it. I think it's wonderful that drivers have something like this if and when they need it.”
This holiday season, Millis Transfer extends our heart-felt wishes to truckers everywhere for a safe, and happy holiday season. We are especially thankful for all the volunteers, like those who work with Meals for 18 Wheels, that help make the road more memorable. And like others, so gracious and kind, we are doing our best to make sure our drivers have one of the best holiday seasons they've ever had.
