This Thanksgiving, Remember the Truckers

This Thanksgiving, Remember the Truckers

This holiday season will be one for the history books. We can celebrate the arrival of a new COVID-19 vaccine, but we must also take precautions. That is especially true for truckers. America's truck drivers are essential workers. And now, especially, it is important to take a moment to say how thankful we are for all that they do. Without truckers, it just would not be possible to celebrate, blessed with access to those things we need in our everyday lives. Thank you, truckers, both near and far. You are valued and appreciated, especially at Millis Transfer.

It is, without a doubt, a time of year when we need our drivers. Consider demand during the holiday.  People in the United States consume millions upon millions of turkey each Thanksgiving. Last year, the numbers exceeded 46 million turkeys during November. That is, of course, followed by “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday.” In years past, nearly $60 billion worth of goods had to be taken from client to the customer.

As American Trucking Association President and CEO Chris Spear said in his 2020 State of the Industry address, “Trucking isn’t just the backbone of our economy—it’s the heartbeat of this nation.” There are perhaps no truer words. This Thanksgiving, truckers are playing a big role in making wishes come true, and for making celebrations, no matter how small, possible.

Are you ready to help make a difference? Then give Millis Transfer a call at 1-800-937-0880 and see what kind of opportunities are available for you. This holiday season, we are thankful for all our truckers, for all that they do. We are also pleased to welcome our new friends to the family.
