June 17, 2018, 7:10pm
Do you know a truck driver that goes above and beyond the call of duty? If so, then don’t delay. Take a moment and nominate them for the 2019 TravelCenters of America "Citizen Driver Awards." This is a distinctive honor designed especially for those in the truck industry that set the example through their good deeds. Nominations for Citizen Awards are being accepted now through September 30, 2018.
According to TravelCenters of America, winners will be announced during a 2019 Awards Ceremony, a special event TravelCenters of America hosts each year to honor Citizen Drivers. Winning drivers are selected by a panel of distinguished trucking professionals who look for those who have positively represented the trucking profession. The awards program, which has been recognizing truck drivers since 2013, seeks to honor those that stand out through “good citizenship, safety, community involvement, health and wellness, and leadership.”
According to the TravelCenters of America website, anyone can nominate a Citizen Driver. That includes fleet owners, friends, family members, trucking organizations and trucking industry customers. Nomination forms are located at www.ta-petro.com. Those nominating truck drivers can either submit their nominations online or mail them to 2019 Citizen Driver Nomination, c/o Robust Promotions LLC, P. O. Box 6299, Villa Park, IL. 60181.
Winners of the Citizen Driver Awards will receive a telephone call by January 14, 2019. Prizes include items such as gift cards, UltraOne Points, keepsakes, and a choice of a $750 travel voucher or airfare for two to the Award ceremony. Winners will also have a space dedicated to them at one of the TravelCenters. It only takes a moment. At Millis Transfer, we are lucky to work the kind of truck drivers that truly make a difference in trucking and we hope to see some of our best nominated.
