Millis Transfer, Inc., a dry van carrier serving customers ranging from food and paper products to beer, launched two new pay packages and several new programs for company drivers in 2015.
As part of those initiatives, drivers now earn one to six cents more per mile. A great start to the new year and even more reason to join the Millis Transfer family.
If that sounds good, you will be happy to know it gets even better. Millis streamlined its driver pay packages by moving from four options to two. Now drivers can choose between the Tax Advantage pay package or Straight Pay package.
These packages were strategically designed to help drivers meet financial obligations while putting more money in their pockets after taxes. All drivers are paid on practical route miles.
Thinking you need a little more incentive? We’ve got something that is really going to make it worth your while. More vacation.
Drivers on the Tax Advantage pay package have the ability to earn three weeks vacation time after one year of service with Millis. New in 2015, drivers are able to cash in some of that time if they choose to stay on the road. One week must be taken away from the job so drivers can rest, recharge and enjoy some family time. Any additional time can be cashed in, up to one week a quarter.
More money. More vacation. More tax advantages. And if all that still doesn’t motivate you, we’ve got one more incentive that surely will. How about detention pay?
At Millis, you WILL get paid while you wait. As part of the new Millis Detention Pay Program, when drivers have an on-time arrival at any Millis customer, and find themselves waiting to load or unload after 90 minutes of their scheduled time, Millis will now pay that driver $20 per hour, paid in 15 minute increments.
“We recognize that no two drivers are alike, or have the same situation at home,” said Millis Transfer’s Director of Recruiting, Reid Ransom.
“We want to provide options so each driver can decide what is best for him or her. Some of these changes are a result of our own drivers’ suggestions. We are all part of the same team and we make a point to listen to their ideas because ultimately it benefits everyone.”
On top of the new offerings in 2015, Millis also provides top-of-the-line equipment, generous health benefits, 401(k) retirement program with up to 30% company match, rider program as well as safety bonuses and performance pay.
